My Chocolate Pink 70's Birthday Party

I am a girl who loves ALL THINGS PINK! Except my House...Pepto Bismol and maybe my car! lol

My Birthday Charity celebration was was about Shopping, Tasting and Sipping for a great cause. Each party guest was asked to bring toiletries to donate to local shelters in honor of my birthday. I love giving back and this was a great way to do it.

Day 1 Tour De SoSo (Chocolate Pink Dinner) started out at Behnnienna Japenesse Steak House with drinks and conversation. The 1 hour and 30min wait was not gonna happen! Thanks to my business partner and friends Tawana T-Baby Randall & Robb Haskell the hunt for a dinner location was on! lol

They called several places in the area and Longhorn on Piedmont Road set it out for us and we had a lovely time. There was food, drinks, SooSooTasty Treats (BALLS), Goodie Bags filled with chocolate, comedy from the waiters and photos of course. I really enjoyed my guest and wouldn't have traded them for the world.

My #BFF's, #BLMGirl's and Special Guest helped me celebrate by donating toiletries to a Charity of my choice and that was the only SWEET GIFT I wanted. Oh, they still found it in there hearts to bring me a gift to! Here are some of my favorites:

Gifts to relax like: soft spa robes, wine and candles cause I need that, jewelry which I love to rock, my wall piece for my office which i can't wait to hang, Soul Purpose, Juicy Couture and Bath & Body Works hummmm they know me to well! lol

Goodie Bags included: 70's candy mix and a pack of Koolade so my guest can enjoy my drink at home. lol

I enjoyed a Gorgeous Party Tweetup @ SOMA of Cumberland Mall. If you haven't been there you should check out their intimate appreal and clothing.I want to give a special thank you to my Blog Mentor Mrs. OhNikka and all of my guest for support me. The SOMA Intimate staff were soooo SWEET and as a sponsor of my party made me feel like a STAR. My 3rd sponsor is my loving husband of BigEdBBQs & Southern Cuisine he made sure my guest was full! lol My 4th sponsor was from Darcy's Botanical of Powdserspings Goergia she donated products for my 1st 20 guest. How Do You Pick a Charity or Cause for Your Donation?

Need and Mission

I pick charities that I support based on my life experiences and also based on the need. Some of the larger charities have plenty of support so many times I choose to support smaller ones- again, based on the need and the mission of the charity. As a breast cancer survivor for instance, I choose to support our local Cancer Society instead of supporting it nationally. I feel like that is the best use of the money that I donate and I also donate my time locally.

Personal Experience

I choose a charity I have worked with and had experience with. I tend to choose charities that are local rather than national. For example, the local chapter of the Red Cross or a specific Red Cross campaign, like disaster assistance for people in my immediate area (floods in Iowa in 2008).

Where I Know and am Known

I give to charities that I'm involved with. I volunteer, attend their performances, know the people on the board. That is giving I feel safe with.

The logan turnpike grits were smooth and silky tasting to the tongue. The 2 jumbo shrimps and tasso gravy complimented the grits perfect.The salmon was moist and delish!

The mussels were in a shallots and garlic with a sweet white wine sauce served with garlic bread. Yummmy!

The Spinach Salad

I love a great salad and this was one. It was a spinach salad with cranberries, almonds, sliced boiled egg and a sweet applewood bacon and bacon dressing.

Well I ended my week with my 21st Wedding Anniversary at Ritz Hotel and the Atlanta Grill. Yes, I said 21 we have gone throw many things, I am his ride or die and he is my SuperMAN. lol

• Open, honest and positive communication (See you cannot just have communication without being honest no matter who gets hurt, open because some people shut down after they communicate, positive meaning having a solution or compromise to make it work). We are still working on this but we are soooooo much better! lol
• Respect (See respect goes both ways and you are both important and worth it)
• Love (See you will fall in and out of love like two high school kids...trust me we did and it gets stronger each time)
• KEEP PEOPLE OUT OF YOUR BUSINESS!!! (See there will be haters jealous of what you have and they can be family or friends. You can share information but limit the information you share unless it is to help someone better their relationship. We had them and we prayed them off!)Well I did ...lol

This hotel and restaurant is a must do on your list! Ok, lets start with the warm, urban Jazzy flyer.

Now up to the Atlanta Grill for dinner and drinks on the patio over looking the streets of downtown Atlanta. A live Jazz band playing and a patio filled with couples in live and rose petals gracing the floor what more could you ask for.

Now the food was more than I expected but you will pay for it so bring your Black card with extra cash! lol

Our waiter all I can say .....hummmmm sexy, polite and from another country. lol

He graced our table with a iron-cast basket of rolls, cheddar biscuits and cornbread. I screamed cornbread at a classy restaurant and he laughed.I grew up eating cornbread and collard green juice (potlicker)! lol

Then there was salad, wine and beer...yep. Beer is poured in a tall shoot glass look alike half way with a lime on the side. lol

I had a dish called Seafood...it was Gumbo Deluxe
(Savannah Style “Purloo” Shrimp, Oysters, Okra, Carolina Rice Grits, Tomato, Andouille Sausage)
and good if you ask me. lol

 

My honey had a Juicy steak that could be cut with a fork and a loaded silky bake potato! Woooow

 

 

Our dessert was a warm Rum bread Pudding topped with vanilla ice cream
(White Chocolate Bread Pudding Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce ).
My my my we were two fat kids!!!! lol

 I took a visit to the restroom and after looking at the drying clothes and basket I wanted to know were the restroom attendant was to dry me off and spray perfume on me at....lol

My blue jean jumper and leather tan belt and shoes where thrift store finds and my purse a sweet deal from Bakers Shoe store $20

 

 

If we could have road public transportation home and slept the entire way we would have done it! lol
